Considering a Cosmetic Dentistry Procedure?

Cosmetic dentistry is dental work that refines and enhances the appearance of gums/gingiva, teeth, and bite. Under the umbrella of cosmetic dentistry, dental aesthetics like smile alignment, size, shape, position, and color of teeth are treated.

Cosmetic dentistry includes the following:

TOOTH BLEACHING OR WHITENING:

As the name of the procedure indicates, it entails the process of fixing tooth discolorations. Natural halos and translucency are essential components of natural teeth. Bleaching or whitening procedures are taken into account to give natural-looking smiles to our clients. Clinical bleaching shows better results than at-home bleaching. You can inquire about bleaching when you visit our family dental practice.

VENEERS:

Veneers are fragile dental coverings, made specifically for each patient. Also known as laminates, these cover up pinched-in defects and discolorations that are otherwise not covered with bleaching.

RE-CONTOURING TOOTH:

Enameloplasty or removal of enamel is a procedure for patients who do not show massive discoloration, and by slight removal of enamel, the problem is fixed.

GINGIVECTOMY:

This encompasses the surgery of gums, removal of hanging gum, or contouring and shaping of it to make it look more aesthetically pleasing. This procedure reduces swollen gums and is safe.

BONDING WITH COMPOSITE:

Diastema or gap between teeth are  fixed with the help of composite restorations. Composite is a material used in dental fillings; it comes in various shades which are a replication of the tooth color. Each color can be used separately or mixed, depending on the patient’s need.

TEMPORARY CROWNS:

Made from composite filling material at the spot and customized, these cover the teeth which have been shaped around for prosthesis placement.

PORCELAIN CROWNS AND BRIDGES:

These are preferred when tooth structure is sound and can support the crown/bridge. Some of the tooth structure of the adjacent teeth is compromised when a bridge is placed.

IMPLANTS:

Young patients prefer dental implants over bridges because dental implants last longer. There are several types of implants available for placement. Titanium is the core metal used to make dental implants. Implants not only improve your smile, aesthetics, and confidence, they also improve your speech, comfort, and self-esteem.

DO YOU NEED COSMETIC DENTISTRY?

Consuming too much alcohol, coffee, tea, or cigarettes can stain your teeth. If you have stains that do not go away from simple brushing or deep dental tooth cleaning, you may need a cosmetic dental treatment.

Other situations where a patient considers cosmetic dentistry is when the smile is gummy, teeth are broken, crooked, chipped (due to a fall), teeth are missing (due to an injury/accident/caries/systemic problem), or a feeling of self-consciousness about smiling.
